Turn Your Engine Bay From Really Dirty to Really Clean
Many vehicle owners forget about cleaning their engine bay because it’s the one part of the vehicle that’s out of sight and out of mind. Unless you’re checking fluids or doing an oil change, you don’t really open the hood.
From what we’ve seen working with customers in Somersworth, most engine bays have never been, or at minimum, hardly ever properly cleaned. Naturally, over time, dirt, grease, and debris builds up, making your engine look worn and potentially hiding leaks or other issues.
Our engine bay detailing service focuses on safely and effectively cleaning the top-side of your engine, improving its overall look and making it easier to spot any potential concerns.
It’s important to note that we only clean the visible, top-side portion of your engine. If you need a deep clean underneath that requires lifting the vehicle, that falls outside of our scope.
While we’re working on your engine bay, we can also restore your headlights! If your headlights are foggy or yellowed, we’ll get them looking clear again, improving both safety and appearance.
For other services to transform your exterior, we also offer Paint Correction and ceramic coatings.

A Safe and Thorough Engine Cleaning Process
Cleaning an engine bay can seem intimidating because if done improperly, water can get into sensitive components and cause damage. That’s why we take extra care to clean your engine the right way. Here’s how we handle engine bay detailing:
Inspection: We inspect the engine bay and cover any sensitive components like the battery and alternator. For older vehicles that have more exposed areas, we’ll cover those parts, too.
Debris removal: Loose debris such as leaves, twigs, acorns and dust are cleared out before cleaning begins. If you park under a tree, you might have a pretty big pile of twigs and acorns.
Spray and agitate: Next we’ll spray our heavy-duty cleaner, allow it to dwell so it can break down the grime and dirt, and then we take an assortment of brushes to scrub all the areas including the tight, hard-to-reach areas.
Gentle rinse: Using low-pressure water, we rinse away loosened dirt without oversaturating the engine bay. This is the key part to keeping things safe. There are times where almost no water is needed. We clean based on the condition of the vehicle.
Dry it down and wipe it down: Any remaining water is dried out with our air blower and towels. This ensures the engine is dry, even in the harder-to-reach areas.
Dress the plastic and rubber areas: To complete the job, we spray a conditioner to the plastic and rubber components. This will help them stay hydrated, prevent dry-rotting, and give it an overall better appearance. This helps a lot if you’re planning on selling your vehicle.
One of the biggest concerns about engine cleaning is water exposure. We take extra precautions by covering key components and using just enough water to rinse without causing issues. And the good thing is, with modern engines, they have a lot of plastic covers that make the process even safer and easier to clean. For older motors, we adjust our approach by using minimal water and focusing more on hand cleaning.
